Pictures!

So it's that time of year again. We took the boys to get their pictures taken today and of course this spelled disaster for Little John. Yesterday, he managed to smack his face on a toy space shuttle and got a bruise on his eyebrow but kind of on the side of his face. No big deal.
Well about three minutes before these pictures were taken, he trips and cracks his face on a kid's table at the portrait place. Luckily, it's not too noticeable but let me just say that he and Caleb now having matching lumps in the middle of their heads.

Real prints are on order and will be showing up in people's Christmas gifts.

Thomas!

We took the boys to see Thomas the Tank engine. It was pretty fun and was definitely their speed. It was at Essex Station near the shoreline of Connecticut. Luckily there were other engines there to look at while we waited for our turn on Thomas. We are pretty sure the boys had fun. We are now turning our attention to getting John signed up for hockey lessons this winter.

Caleb is a pro at the "stare down". He is going to be a tough cookie.

Caleb

It was hard to remember at what age Little John started developing a personality however Caleb has started to refresh my memory. He is definitely turning into his own little person. Before dinner, he ran around the kitchen with his bike helmet on. It was very entertaining.

A Walk in the Woods

It was so nice on Sunday that we decided to go for a family walk on some trails near our house. It was great to get out and the boys had a great time. Little John was absolutely enthralled with throwing rocks in the water and of course Caleb was as well.

Halloween!

We made it through Halloween and I can say that John had a fantastic time. It's great when they are finally aware and can get excited. Big John took Little John trick or treating around the neighborhood while Caleb and I passed out candy. Caleb decided he did not want to go walking around in the dark. Fair enough. Once Caleb went to bed, Big John and Little John took over candy duty. Big John referred to John as a "carnie" because he kept beckoning people to our house by shouting "I have candy". It was quite funny.
Another memorable moment was when three kids came to the door and Little John gave the first two kids one piece of candy each and then he gave the third kid a huge handful. One of the first kids turned and said "That's not fair" to which John replied "That was a trick" and smiled. Big John and I were in tears laughing. It a good Halloween all round. We are looking forward to next year when they can both trick or treat.
