Here is a short clip (~2 minutes) of the boys enjoying their newly (yesterday) souped up, super speedy ("it's as fast as a motorcycle") truck. As you can see, they are still adjusting to the new found speed.

Need for Speed

Boston!
Since construction has ruled our lives lately, we decided to take a break and take the boys to Boston for the day. We went and saw the USS Constitution and Navy shipyard. The boys had fun. I think they part they enjoyed the most was the ferry ride from Long Wharf to the Navy shipyards :)
Trap in an episode of This Old House
We have begun what will be a lengthy renovation of our house. I told John he had to have a plan and a trailer before we started any projects and now we have those two items. We unintentionally began with the master bedroom. Previous owners of the house decided to paint over wall paper in the master bedroom and the wall paper seams were starting to show. Someone, who shall remain nameless, could not resist the urge to start peeling the wall paper hence we ended up with exposed plaster walls. The solution was to rip everything down to the studs and then put up corrugated plastic walls...classy. We've finally moved back into our room and are grateful to have a door once again.
The pictures below are mainly of the plaster and lathe. I did not get a shot of the corrugated walls. I particularly like the third picture. You can see a big gray patch. We think they used some kind of cement to try and fix the plaster.
Since we did not rent a dumpster, we ended up hauling all the debris to the dump ourselves. It ended up being a whopping 2,000 pounds! Needless to say our house will feel a lot lighter once we are done with all the renovations!
