Not a Creature was Stirring.....

Well at least not right now but I am sure they will be up at an ungodly hour tomorrow.

I just wanted to give an update on Caleb. He is now almost 3 weeks post surgery and his scar looks great. The last of the glue came off today. I think we won't even know it was ever there in a few years. On a side note, yes, he is eating M&Ms at 7:30 in the morning. It's the only way I could get him to let me clip a stray stitch that was sticking out.

Ode to a Birthmark

As you all know, tomorrow is Caleb's surgery to have his birthmark removed (if you want to be technical his strawberry hemangioma / cavernous hemangioma). It was a hard decision but we (and the doctors) feel it is for the best. It has shown no progress over the last year and the chances of it disappearing on its own are slim.

We explained the surgery to him tonight and I could tell he was confused. It's been on his forehead for so long that it is a part of him and I'm sure it never occurred to him that it could be removed. Luckily, he has grown up with great family and friends who never made him feel different because of it. We will definitely keep people posted tomorrow and put up some after shots once things have started to heal.
